It seems that the version of Abu Ghraib peddled by human rights groups is false, too. In this case, an officer was convicted of disobeying orders concerning the discussion of that case. He was acquitted, though, of much more serious charges (failing to control Graner and the other MPs who misbehaved).
Then again, the human rights groups are less concerned about justice, and more interested in tying the hands of our interrogators. Never mind that the techniques used may be needed to stop the next 9/11.
Unpleasant? Yes. But a few roughed-up terrorists is a lot more pleasant than a major terrorist attack.

Gitmo...
The problem with letting al-Qaeda detainees have access to the justice system has been security. Now, the government is trying to cut back on the risks.
The usual suspects are complaining. Sorry, but I really don' see the problem. We need terrorists on ice - and out of circulation - as permanently as possible. Since the United States of America doesn't have access to a real black hole to drop them into, a legal black hole will have to do.

An outrageous lawsuit...
That's all people really have to know about the ACLU's suit against Don Rumsfeld.
Never mind that the perpetrators have been tried and convicted. Never mind that the United States has clearly prohibited torture, the ACLU and Human Rights First have decided to go after Rumsfeld for fighting a war.
With this latest suit, it seems that they have gone beyond hamstringing the DOD and instead towards the personal destruction of prominent people in charge of fighting the war. I get the feeling that the ACLU would be sticking up for the SS guards at Dachau if they had the chance.
