Russell Simmons, one of the big names in hip-hop, is hosting a fundraiser for the Republican candidate for the Senate seat in Maryland, Michael Steele. Democrats usually win in Maryland by dominating the black vote - often getting over 90%. If Steele can get 20% of the black vote, he's the next U.S. Senator.
