Claudio Vargas is not exactly a good starter. He rarely gets through the sixth inning, and he can't even reliably protect a three-run lead in the first.
Meanwhile, Gallardo, after some very good starts, has been moved to the bullpen.
Maybe the Brewers need to switch these pitchers around. Soon. The lead is only 5.5 games.
