I do feel somewhat compelled to comment on the recent events involving Mel Gibson. Simply put, he has no excuse - not for the DUI, nor for the alcolhol-fuelled comments he made. It certainly will make it hard for me to view the superb film We Were Soldiers in exactly the same light as I once did.
Mel Gibson clearly has to do a lot of thinking - and he ought to get help.

Gibson is an actor, a good one. His perfomance in "We were Soldiers" is in no way diminished by his drunken finding of his inner A$$hat.
