Mary Cheney is going to take a lot of fire from all sides. In a very real sense, she already has - particularly the way John Kerry and John Edwards dragged her into the 2004 race when she was trying to keep a low profile. But she's taken a cheap shot by claiming that those who support the marriage amendment are an effort to "write discrimination into the Constitution" in the Washington Post profile in today's Style section.
I'm sorry, but I am not voting to "write discrimination into the Constitution". I'm trying to have some sort of say on this issue, after an activist court in Massachusetts first short-circuited, and how some in Massachusetts are trying to prevent an effort to give the people a say in this controversial matter.
