Just what is going on here?

Pink Flamingo has done some excellent research on some... interesting and disturbing links involving some of the hard-line opponents of the President's proposals on immigration (which are largely reflected in the Senate bill).

Take a good look. I'd like to know why Tom Tancredo and Michelle Malkin, among others, have let this association occur. This is the Age of Google - and it is not too hard for someone to type in the name of an entity that invites them to speak. In Tancredo's case - he has a staff to do this. Malkin's had a background as a journalist.

Checking up should have been instinctive in both cases. This stuff should be easy for someone to find out. There seem to be only two conclusions that I can reach:

1. They failed to check up on these people. If this is the case, then we are dealing with what can only be described as gross negligence. In which case, we can't really trust what they say if they do not seem capable of carrying out due diligence.

2. They checked up on these people, and didn't see anything wrong. If this is the case, then we are dealing with something that is much worse. They have chosen to associate with people who are advocating an evil agenda, and as such, they need to be defeated.

I could sure use a cold Mountain Dew right about now...

She has declared VDARE a "great resource" in the past - and gives it a one-day head start; and it runs stuff from Jared Taylor. If you remember the little tiff I had with Vox Day, you'll also note how quiet she was.

Take a good look at who Jared Taylor has been associating with. Take a look at who speaks at the conference he runs.

In the Age of Google, how does Michelle Malkin explain not taking the thirty seconds or so to look up the people who were involved with VDARE?

One gets known by the company one chooses to keep.

My parents taught me that a LONG time ago.

Your kind words and interest are much appreciated. For several months now I've felt like 'the voice crying in the wilderness' - that no one was listening - and no one cared!

I've set up an additional blog for nothing but the political implications of what I am finding - The Subway Canaries.

I stopped paying any attention to Malkin after the Dubai debacle.

This whole thing is distressing, when these folks starting sounding as loony as the left then we have come full circle.
